Have you ever considered having a chemical peel? Chemical peels can help improve the appearance of the skin and correct a range of problem skin conditions such as acne and pigmentation. Hopefully we can shed a bit more light on what chemical peels are and how they can help. At Dr Sobia Medispa, we provide a number of chemical peel treatments. Once of favourite chemical peel range is Enerpeel.
What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is treatment where a chemical solution is applied to area of concern. Chemical peels work by stimulating new cell growth. The result can result in beautiful refreshing and radiant skin.
What can a Chemical Peel Treat?
Chemical Peels can treat a variety of skin conditions around the face. This includes:
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
- Reducing the appearance of scars
- Correcting sun damage
- Treating acne
- Skin remodelling
- Dark patches
- Oily Skin
Moreover a chemical peel can be used to give your skin the radiant boost that might be lacking. Chemical peels can treat a range of issues.
What Happens During the Treatment?
Treatment is a fairly quick process, which can take as little as 20 mins. However this does depend on the type of chemical peel being applied. During the treatment, the skin is cleansed throughly. A solution is applied and left to sit before it is neutralised. You may feel a burning or stinging sensation after the solution is applied. This is normal but settle once the peel is neutralised. The deeper the peel the more sensitive this is. However your practitioner might target smaller area for stronger peels to help you tolerate the stinging.
Your skin may feel irritated, red or tight following your treatment. However your skin should start gradually flaking and peel revealing new skin underneath. It is not uncommon for your skin to look tanned or darker up to seven days post treatment. However soon after this the skin will settle and start to look normal again and gradually improve. The peeling of the skin will reveal new skin.
At Dr Sobia Medispa we use a range of skin peel types from Enerpeel. Enerpeel is an advanced peel that remodels the skin. The skin deeply absorbs the active ingredients after the peel is applied. Enerpeel does not excessively peel or harshly exfoliate the skin or cause trauma. Enerpeel works inside the skin, unlike other peels that work on the surface and can be harsh. This reduced the redness that might be experienced with other peels.
There are are a number of Enerpeel types that help our practitioners target various skin conditions. This includes:
- Mandelic Acid – Suitable for suitable sensitive skin and rosacea and ageing.
- Pyruvic Acid – Targets oily skin, ageing and sun damage.
- Salicyclic Acid – suitable for acne skin.
- Jessners peel (Salicylic and Lactic Acid).
- TCA Peel – reduces the hyperpigmentation, ageing and scarring.
- Eye & Lip Peel – suitable for wrinkles, lines, circles around the eyes and lip areas.
The peel used during the treatment is determined by the the concern that needs to be addressed. During the consultations your practitioner will assess your skin and also discuss the different peel types.
